"We Don't Serve Anymore": He Was Denied Coffee Because of His Face.

Amit Goss was born with a genetic disorder - neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), which causes non-cancerous tumors to grow along the nerve lines. So how did he get out of the predicament on his own?

It all began with a simple order at a cafe in London.

That day, Amit walked into the cafe and approached the counter to order a coffee.   A female employee suddenly said to him, "We're not serving anymore," then turned and walked away without any explanation.
Feeling hurt and confused, Amit could only leave quietly.

Sadly, this kind of experience is not rare in his life.   From childhood onward, Ghose has repeatedly faced rejection and strange looks because of his appearance.
Neurofibromatosis Type 1 is a genetic disorder affecting about 1 in 2,500 people.  A difficult chapter of Ghose's childhood began when he was 11 years old – he was forced to undergo surgery to remove his left eye.

From then on, ridicule and isolation shadowed him.   Schoolmates spoke without filter, and one comment made just before Halloween burned itself into his memory: "You don't need a Halloween mask, you've already got one for life."

"That sentence really affected a large part of my life.   I couldn't accept my body, I was afraid to approach other kids, always scared of being rejected, afraid no one would want to sit next to me."

Driven by a desire to help others, Ghose wrote a children's book, Born Different, hoping to use story to foster societal understanding and acceptance of "visible differences."
Furthermore, TikTok became a vital platform for his voice.   By sharing his experiences online, he has amassed over 200,000 followers.

This platform not only lets him drive change but also connects him with supporters from around the world, forming a warm community.   Some comments read:
💬"Keep going, bro, you inspire many.   Carrying this cross can't be easy, but it shows your strength."

💬"You are an amazing person.   We don't know each other, but I feel I know you through your story.   We read your book to our daughter this week, very inspiring, and we picked another one for her class."

💬"This breaks my heart, I wish I could be your friend."

💬"You are a warrior, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.   I also lost an eye to cancer, I used to want to hide, but then I thought – why should I?   If people choose to be ignorant, let them.   We become better people because of it.   God bless you, friend."

The impact of such discrimination runs deep, but as we'll see, the human spirit can shine brilliantly even through adversity.

Discrimination can have a profound impact on a person's mental health.
People like Ghose often face anxiety, depression, and struggles with self-worth.   However, with support systems, professional counseling, and personal resilience, many can overcome challenges and live fulfilling lives.

Ghose's experience is proof that the human spirit can still shine brightly in the face of adversity.
Ghose continues to advocate for his cause.   The message he wants to convey is clear and firm: True confidence comes from within;   no external judgment can define a person's worth.

And his journey of inspiration is far from over.   Stay tuned, for the next chapter promises even greater impact.
